poem/song.......shake it off

Posted by thinkfast on February 12, 2004, at 5:50:21

<CHORUS>
internal scream makes me shiver
shake it off, shake it off
but they need to know
cowardly puke, go quiver
again, there it goes
here it comes, here it comes
shake it off, shake it off
ahh! i feel
the circling braids in the fuse
in which it runs
------------
my time, time awaiting
for something more
predicting the future
feels the same
as moments concentrating
it's inevitable
i know what will happen
the monotony of familiarity
in well known places
the same plastered looks
on everyone’s oblivious faces
walking alone, out of view
the inhospitable reality
needles through
and i see you
<CHORUS>
give me a tragedy, i don't fuckin care
for, when details consume
the regular motions of life
are such a chore
my time, time awaiting
for something more
looking forward
but i can't see past
the present me
looking backwards
what was that?
what is this?
something has changed
not the way, i used to see
violating the middle
the dueling personalities
fighting for power
bleeding my individuality
<CHORUS>
five minutes of your time
too feel what i feel
be where i've been
take a razor to your arm
don't worry!, you're fine
it's so strong
but, the pressure buckles
can you
shake it off, shake it off?
the point is made
it's painful, kind of rough
and this vengeance chuckles
ha, ha, ha, hmmmm.....
<CHORUS>
