Zyprexa is so hard for me to get off of. I don't know how. I've been at 1.25mg for a couple weeks, which is down from a couple months at 2.5mg and prior to that it was 5mg for many years.
Headaches. Fogginess. Disconnectedness. Depression. Anxiety. Fear. Insomnia. No appetite. Flu like. These are zyprexa withdrawal symptoms for me. They last about 2 weeks with each dose change. Even the tiniest change, like from 1.25mg to 1mg is dramatic.
I was off zyprexa completely for one month in 2005. The whole month I had serious crippling anxiety, total loss of appetite, bad sleep, and an overall sense of free floating fear. The sad thing is that it was originally prescribed as an antidepressant booster and for sleep, because there was no anxiety or fear or mania or anything else. Now I have all that stuff, thank you zyprexa.
I loath zyprexa. It is good for short term fixes of serious situations. But in my opinion it is way overprescribed and leads to more problems down the road. I don't know how to get off. I know this isn't much help to you. But I wanted you to know you aren't alone in your battles with this evil drug.
