Many people who take opioids require a combination of two laxatives on a daily basis. Due to the risk of bowel obstruction, 'fiber supplements' such as psyllium are risky. Most sources recommend a combination of a stool softener (or osmotic laxative) and a stimulant laxatives. MiraLax + senna is a useful combination. Long-term use of laxatives is frequently necessary.
I hope the GI specialist can offer some advice.
