Wellbutrin and Topomax w/d

Posted by merry on April 22, 2005, at 1:03:55

I had to get off wellbutrin because my insurance started giving me a hard time and I had no more refills left. I've been competely off it for 3 weeks now and I'm starting to feel very depressed. Now I'm coming off the Topomax and it was hell at first. Worst thing I ever felt. The good part is I can think more clearly and I'm not feeling so foggy headed. I'm just wondering if it is withdrawals that is causing the crying spells and depression or is it because I need to get back on my AD. If not wellbutrin (because of insurance probs) any recommendation of another similar AD? I liked Topomax at first but I am tired of the stupids and feeling dumb. I want my intellegence back. Not that I think that I am brainy, but the topomax kept me from making simple decisions and even writing out checks was hard. Now my keystrokes are getting faster and more accurate. I use Topomax as a mood stablizer. Any recommendations on another mood stablizer that will not cause weight gain or the stupids? No way am I going back to lithium or depakote. yuk! merry
