> I recently discontinued taking Zoloft..about 5 days now. I was on 50mg for about 4 months then down to 25 mg for 2 months. After gaining weight and not being able to take it off, I decided to take myself off. I called my dr. she told me to take half of the 25 mg. for 2 weeks then to stop taking completely. So I did. I have been having this flutter feeling thru my body..mainly my head that last a split second then goes away..several times throughout the day..and sweaty palms?? Is this normal?

The symptoms of withdrawal from Zoloft can be many and diverse. What you describe is quite normal. If this is your first time discontinuing one of these drug, it must be scary to feel those lightening-like sensations. Some people call them brain zaps. They will grow less and less troublesome over time. So far, it sounds like you have been spared the worst of what some people experience as a witdrawal syndrome.

Be well.
