Hi!

I've come off Paxil twice. One time I substituted 20mg Prozac for 20mg Paxil- I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms when I switched to Prozac, nor did I have any withdrawal symptoms when I abruptly d/ced the Prozac a few months later. Because Prozac has a long half-life, it can take a while to reach a adequate concentration in the blood, I think some people might need to take a 'loading dose' of more than 20mg for a few days when transferring abruptly from another SSRI to Prozac.

Another time I went off 20mg Paxil by going down to 10mg for a few weeks and then stopping abruptly. I had some withdrawal symptoms for about a week after I stopped.

Ed.
