Like Larry said, there is a difference between addiction and dependence. A BIG difference. As human beings we are dependent on air to breath, water to stay hydrated, and food for energy. Dependence is not a failing, its part of being human. If you're missing a necessary chemical, and replacing this chemical corrects some pretty big problems, why isn't it okay to take it? If you had a headache would you not take an aspirin? Does that mean you're dependent on aspirin if you take some every time you have a headache? I know its hard to defy your mother, but you have to do what's right for you. If your mother was against your taking medicine that would save your life, would you go along with it and let yourself die? In the end its up to you to take care of you.
And now I'll stop preaching on THIS subject.
Take care Matt. You are an incredible person. You deserve the best out of life.
