Smoking is a stimulant and though it is mild and it doesn't last long it may just be substituting for some of what the Dex did. I am not sure how long you have been off of dex but in reality you can *feel* and really be depressed for a few months after stopping use. Antidepressants such as Wellbutrin or Effexor might just kick the blues and especially wellbutrin will help stop the smoking. Good luck, and don't stress it as it will get better with time.
