> CAMPRAL - the "WONDER DRUG" for alcoholics, supposed to stop cravings. Here's how it did that: chronic diarrhea, unbelievably intense flatulence, nausea, insomnia because of above symptoms. If you're lactose-intolerant, you know these symptoms well. After stopping Campral, symptoms vanished. Have to admit - when I felt that way, the last thing I wanted to do was drink.
>I decided that the side effects, which have diminished during the 3 months I've been on this med, have been more than worth it.
To treat my depression and anxiety, I have put up with side effects including headache, nausea, insatiable appetite, constipation, diarrhea, insomnia, excessive sleep, to name but a few. Thank goodness these weren't all experienced by taking a single medication! But I've been on many, like many people here.
To me it's a decent enough trade: I get to stay sober and I deal with the side effects by taking a fiber forming nutritional supplement. Far from being a poison for me, Campral has given me a chance to recover my sobriety.
and that's my 2 cents.
