That rocks! Its hard to turn down something you've found to be bad news for you when it has other appealing qualities. I'm glad you were able to stick with your decision.
I've been trying to 'just say no' to sweets (mainly baked goods). I have a problem with not being able to stop once I get started. I can't explain the crazed feeling I get when that happens.
This week at work we had a bake sale and a birthday that included two of my all time favorites; brownies and carrot cake. So I decided to make the exception. I felt bad because I ate both within two days, but I was proud that I waited this long for a legitimate exception. I've been turning down birthday cakes, cookies, dounuts, and candy bars for the past few weeks. I'm trying to make it worth it to give in, rather than just jump at anything with sugar. My other exception is cheesecake.
Of course that's one of many addictions I'm trying to over come. But I guess you can only take it one step at a time.
