My new hubby and I got married less than 1 month ago. He told me to check into insurance options, so I went into his file to find out exactly what PPO plan he has. In the same file was this huge wad of prescription receipts- for Ativan, Viagra, Cialis and his asthma meds.
He told me he had taken Ativan "a long time ago" for sleep disturbance. The receipts show he's refilled every month up until late June. His primary doc also prescribed the Viagra and Cialis - of which he has refilled every month.
I also found out right before the wedding that he smoked pot "not very often". Since our marriage, I've seen him using multiple times perday. He also drinks daily, but moderately.
In a gentle nonconfrontational manner I asked him about it. He lied about his use. He said he hadn't refilled the Ativan or sex meds except right before our wedding. He said the receipts were two -3 years old. All not true. He said the sex meds were prescribed by his urologist - also untrue. All the receipts are from 2004 and all receipts show his primaryu care doc as the prescriber.
I told him his dr. was committing malpractice by giving him an open prescription for Ativan for going on three years and she wasn't qualified to precribe sex meds without referring out and ruling out underlying conditions. He agreed it was wrong, but refused to let me go to the dr. with him, saying "you're not my mother or psychologist".
He showed me a handful of maybe 60 Ativan. What happened to the other 180 pills from the refills?I asked him to throw out the Ativan and he refused.
I told him to go check his records and we'd discuss it more later.
He's lying and I don't know what to do.
