I mean, there aren't any jobs in teaching physics or maths or chemistry or philosophy or whatever in new zealand...
they needed to hire 15 lecturers to teach people how to grow honey. because people thought that investing in education in nz on how to grow honey would pay off.
like how previos generations invested in management so they could work for fonterra selling infant milk formula to all the babies in china.
they have this consumer driven demand system in how the universites will invest / staff the universities.
and new zealanders aren't allowed to study engineering or management anyway (that's for internationals) and maaori are only allowed to study the arts or maaori (science is not for them) and so on...
there's no sense at all in hiring a diversity to create a diverse and resilent workforce. a stable workforce. representing all the things.
it's all about one field 'winning' and so everybody is forced to take the one thing and everybody else is to be let go.
they just refuse to pay their workers.
