I think they started using air-conditioning as a standard in 60's....late 60's
but i also rerember the old window unit that was in my grandma's house was very cold, she had all these technologies from the 70's.....funny thing because i grew up thinking 70's technology was current when i was a kid lol, she had a VCR, tv, vacuum, radio, goodness the whole house was from the 1975 and stayed that way......
you can go to an auto-shop and they have add-in refriderants that you can put into you car AC, that will make colder......just go to a hardware shop, or place that's a car maintenance store....i'm in dallas, so i just go to wal-mart or o'rileys auto parts
lol i was looking on ebay to see i could buy an old air conditioner from the 70's to get colder air.....they didnt have any......
and R-12 freon is very expensive, it's no longer made, and almost all the current cars will not work with it.....it's mainly cars before 1990
R-22 is a the home air-conditioner Freon.....in 2010 all air conditioners manufactured stopped taking r-22....Puron is the next refrigerant, freon air conditioners will have to reply on recycled r-22 freon, and it's price sky rocket.... r-12 was the car freon and has been replaced with r-134a
