I didn't know it was a blood test. I thought it involved a rectal exam. Huh.
Apparently we don't do those here. Prostate screenings. Apparently prostate cancer is an 'autopsy cancer'.
Apparently we don't do spinal taps, either. It was weird... There were all these health promotion advertisements on TV about taking your kid to the doc / to the ER if they had a 'cold' incase is was meningitus...
But then there was this case where the parents took their kid to the ER... Told it was probably a cold. Took their kid back to the ER... Told it might be meningitus, but was probably a cold...
Turned out to be meningitus.
Turned out to seriously f*ck up the kid.
Oh wells. We have ACC. We can't sue for negligence - but we get ACC for free. It's our solution... To an endless stream of negligence. Is what i'm realising...
That's what it's doing.
It is kind of running broke. But then... I get why.
The doc didn't take the screw out of my ankle. He only wanted to do the easy bit. Snap the head off, get that. 5 minutes and done. If I get the rest out later... Well... That just means we've doubled elective surgeries.
There was a case of a lady who had had 6 operations on her hip. Hip replacement. Metal on metal. Problems. THey try and fix with another operation... And so on... Anyway... She discovered that medical device representatives were scrubbing in. She was signing a form that was allowing medical device representatives to scrub in if their 'technical skill was required' (or something like that.
I wonder... I wonder just what they DO in the OR. I wonder if they might actually be doing operations. And then... Can't sue for negligence because we have ACC. I wonder if we can sue for problems with medical devices? Not sure... Dpeends on international law / trade agreements, I think. WOuld be nice to have the right to sue... But then we need the task forces of lawyers to compete...
Huh....
Medical devices, hey. Me and my bros have one and I'll install it. Cheap asssssss. ACC will fund it yeeeeeehawwwwww.
I phoned ACC to ask what the physiotherapist claimed for. Becuase he was trying to get me to buy expensive rocker shoes that I don't beleive in. And I didn't buy them. But.. Did he claim for them anyway? They should be able to tell me what has been billed by my 'treatment providers' on my behalf - yeah? But after 10 minutes on hold... They say they can't release that information to me. Huh. THey WANT TO run broke? I'm kinda thinking they should....
But then... Trust our courts? Not sure about that, either. I don't know...
