I suppose some folks have an axe to grind, and they'll grind it anywhere, regardless of whether or not it's an "appropriate" place to do it. And maybe some folks suffer from an online version of Tourettes. Schmuck is the right word, either way.
Having been one of those schmucks from time to time is helpful to my understanding of how such behavior ranges from utterly useless to destructive, with no upside, whatsoever.
