Hey folks:
Well, I haven't posted in awhile since I have had my life change in so many ways just three or so weeks ago. My Mom, 73 going on 40, is one of the most beautiful, sweet women you would ever meet. On Nov.21/12, in the early afternoon, we where having one of our many, many deep, close talks/discussions. That same afternoon, she collapsed in the washroom, in immense pain, from a stroke...an aneurysm.
She was rushed to two hospitals, and then onto one of the best research/teaching hospitals in the world. Sorry if some of this sounds a little rough for some....in an amazing operation, they placed a coil around the artery in her head that was bleeding, and ran a catheter from the site all the way down and out of her groin. This would allow excess fluids causing pressure in her brain to empty into the catheter. She is waiting to have surgery to place a shunt in her head that would empty contents into her belly via an internal tube.
I am currently going through a rather intense mix of unstable emotions, but my doc is strongly helping me. She has been in the ICU for just over three or so weeks. Can I please ask (beg!) for some prayers. I have my Mom's power of attorney, and have moved into her bedroom looking after her little dog that is heartbroken without her, and my 75 year old father, who is quite disabled, with major anxiety and depression multiplying his disability, and is also on dialysis. I basically run the household, and this made me realize the super-powers a Mom must have to make a nice, loving clean home.
I will post more a bit latter on, as I start another day at 5:30 am. Again, prayers for my Mom...will be deeply thanked in gratitude.
Peace...
Jay (Canuck)
