Well, movies are tough on me in general. But there is a boy my son's age which made it even tougher. And the director is notorious for his grueling films, though he lets his audiences off a little easier IMO this time around. You might be interested otoh because the main character suffers from depression of some sort, though her 'cure' is nothing to emulate. I made it through o.k. and would see it again.
