A year or two ago I was working on the desk with another volunteer who had come from the US and still had family there.
We discussed house prices in Las Vegas and she wondered if she should buy one and get a brother to manage it for her.It hasn't happened here (yet).
Everything is so interconnected and so much money is owed from everything to everything and everyone else.
I remember when debt was only for the rich and really not common.I don't know how much house prices have fallen where you are, but that Las Vegas house was in the 30,000's, as I recall, which is what I paid for our first house in 1970 something.
If this is how difficult it is to get rid of debt, then the problems may be with us for some time.
I find the whole thing very difficult to think about.
In Spain there was a real mood about it which was easy to pick up on.
