> Yes. It's all these short novellas about natural science in the late 1800s, early 1900s. Beautifuly written, fasciniting characters, not the least bit depressing.

A while back, I read this book Little Bee which had been highly recommended by a friend. There was endless writing about suicide. The previous summer, I had come within inches of hanging myself and the book freaked me out, literally left me shaking and panicked. My daughter told me I have to stop reading depressing books. So Andrea Barrett is completely non-depressing (to me at least)
