There are no mistakes in God's world. There is a hidden meaning behind all events. I truly believe that! My prayer every morning is for God to pave me a path and I simply commit to walking it. Just do what is in front of you.
I wouldn't sweat the job and school stuff so much. Get in a good living situation. Find a nice productive job that encourages you to be social and have good relationships with your peers.
I really think families are going to have to start bonding together a lot in the coming years. Social services and institutions are going to be trimmed down. Being on good terms with your family is going to be a very valuable asset in the next decade. I think you are doing the right thing.
Looking forward to hearing about your move!
