I've read the link and indeed it is frightening. But that's because it's supposed to be. The multihazard demo project appears to me to be about coming up with worst case scenario models in order to develop guidelines for how governments and communities can best cope with hazardous events. But the worst case scenarios are entirely hypothetical and they aren't predicting anything , I don't think.
But when these are publicized it triggers all this obsessive anxiety in so many people, and the media keep repeating it and repeating it and that makes it worse. Are you able to make yourself stay away from media reports about this? That is what I try to do when dangers are being reported on too much or in a sensational way.
You mentioned you feel your chemistry is off right now. Do you normally bounce back from such anxiety/fear triggers more easily than you are now?
BTW--sometimes i've wondered if I have a type of bipolar, ie without mania. Just some fluctuations where occasionally I'm kind of restless and upbeat etc. THey're not much, but I think of them as being excited about not being depressed, if you know what I mean.
Take care--
