I know that we know the Babble mail rules. Not only should I use the rules but I should always use common sense when I do send someone a message.
I have to be civil in a babble mail. If I am not civil to the poster they can alert Bob. Vice versa. If anyone receives a babble mail that causes discomfor or hurt, send it to Bob. Don't allow harassment. He will stop it for you.
Unless I know another poster well and feel comfortable with them having personal information about me, I will not give my email address, my real name, my home address or my phone number out to anyone in a babble mail. That also goes for my medical information, trips, personal life and anything else I don't want the world to know about me. And of course I do not want it used against me at a later date.
Giving out personal information here in babble messages has resulted in it being saved and/or shared and ultimately it can be used in a hurtful and "uncivil" way.
It may be hard to think that a "private messaging" system could end up harming us but as we all know by now, nothing is private on the internet.
