That's pretty scary though. YOu can't be sure you will fall without hurting yourself. I get orthostatic hypotension from parnate and perphenizine and have to pass by a set of stairs to use the bathroom at night. My husband and I put a child gaurd over the stairwell so I don't accidently fall down the stairs. What is causing this hypotension? Is it drugs you're taking? You need to be especially careful rising from a sitting or lying position. Sit still for a few minutes and let the dizziness pass.
