That's what I've enjoyed most in "The Wire". The African-Americans (as we say these days and they most certainly do not) will say "I'll think on it", as in Shakespeare, whereas we say "I'll think about it".
An Americanism I've noticed is that (many of) you say "I could care less" meaning (for us) "I couldn't care less", which sounds more logical to me.
