Hello, and wishes for good health to all,
I don't wish to bore so I'll try to be concise without seeming curt, although this may be an exercise in contradiction.
I'm married and I'm also a military veteran. My education includes two college degrees although I'm still probably the worst speller I know. I'm close to retirement age and I've been in the same career, with the same employer, for over 25 years.
I became aware of the Psycho-Babble web site while googling medication information.
The factors most conducive to my wanting to join Dr. Bob's Psycho-Babble include: 1)Member input and type of information I've already seen in forums; 2)Reading the entire text in Dr. Bob's "Welcome", 'whew' and referencing the FAQ; 3)Perusing Dr. Bob's comments & background in his biography, as well as the stated philosophy offered in direction of participants. 4)Appreciation of the time and effort provided to produce this web site; 5)Being able to pass the required quiz to register after reading the disclaimers, 'whew' again, so I could earn access; 6)Lastly, having the desire to benefit and contribute by information exchanges and also gain from the uniquely individual vantages provided in forums by other Psycho-Babble members.
"This order of mention may not be the order of priority".I've had issues for more than two decades that I continue to navigate and confront. The nature of these 'life events' I'm willing to share. Some of my 'events' are, injuries that have resulted in chronic pain, medication dependency, severe hearing loss, and I'm currently experiencing a depression that's created almost total anhedonia.
I wish to participate in forums I find interesting and I'm looking forward to sharing information. If I don't agree with something, I'll share my diverging information as I believe appropriate. I'll always remain civil. I plan to be supportive and encouraging, or if I have nothing to contribute that is beneficial, I will remain silent. I believe humor is beneficial, when appropriate. I think humor piques interest and I know it also assists with my method of absorbing information. I also think levity may contribute light in darker subject areas when used with discretion and good judgement.
Thank you for your time to read this too lengthy introduction. I look forward to participating with members and exhanging thoughts and information.
