This just came to mind, sometimes how you see yourself...I'll look in the mirror and say "that's not me, even though it is me" I rather look at a magazine or a image to get "self-idenity" but I also read borderline personality disorder is like that, you can't have a stable image [self].
Who you are is Who you are, and what you think you are, you are. So that's good that you have freedom of choice to choose between darkness and light. Yet, there are disablites, like severe depression or something that just is not working in the brain correct to have a stable life. I do think upbringing and the way you where taught gives you a insight of how you see life, "like father, like son" scenario.
The bibical scipture, mainly in the old testement warned against "idols" and "graven images", which today I think is accepted in society, which the God of Israel told his people not to do, that's why there is profacy in Ezekiel "rebellious people".
Well...let me get to something that makes sense..
You can have a mask but it will fall off and you have to get new images. So, the best is to accept yourself as you are, but love your aspect's that make "you"
