It appears as though the majority of the cases are no worse than the seasonal flu. In fact, in some people it is quite mild. Those people with underlying health problems tend to experience more severe symptoms than those that are healthy, but that is true of the seasonal flu as well. H1N1 can be treated with tamiflu.
We can dramatically cut our changes of getting either the seasonal or H1N1 flu by washing our hands, avoid touching our eyes, nose or mouth, staying away from sick people etc...
Yes, there is a new flu strain out there, and, yes it is getting a lot of press, but I don't think it going to be the 1918 flu pandemic.
I think it's going to be alright.
