> Kath you have mentioned memory loss before with celexa in what way did it affect your memory? I took it for a month once and just made me extremly horribly tired? Love Phillipa
~ ~ Hi Phillipa, It didn't affect me within a month. Since my memory is bad, I can't remember exactly what happened at first...or how soon it started. But it did affect it to the extent that I'd say, "Oh I forgot that; my memory is bad lately." or something like that & I actually had friends say, yes they noticed!
I would have thought that would be an easy question to answer. But it isn't really. I know that my memory has gotten worse over the last couple of years, but I've been off Celexa during that time, so I don't link that with Celexa.
I'll ask my daughter if she remembers, or can tell me how it affected me. I feel sort of silly not being able to tell you!! LOL
Kath
PS - a friend started taking it maybe a year ago & also has noticed memory problems! The part that bothered me was that when I stopped taking it, I really hoped my memory would return to what it had been before, but it didn't.
My memory NOW is quite crappy. For example, last night, my husband left his car parked on the road so that I could put my car in first, & it wouldn't need to be moved this morning for DH to drive out early. So, last nite about 10 pm DH asked, "Did you bring my car in when you got home?" (I had said I would.) I said, "Oh, no - I'll bring it in now." Then I realized I Might have! So asked him to look out the window & sure enough, I'd brought it in. Then I tried to remember, & what I could remember was walking out to the car with the keys in my hand...not actually driving it in. And now, when I think of it I actually can remember driving it in! Weird. Sometimes I can dredge up things...this morning I was trying to remember where I'd seen a little table out at the edge of the road yesterday (People put things they don't want on the edge of the road in hopes of someone being able to use them.) It took about 5 minutes before I could remember where I'd seen it, but now that I've remembered it's quite clear in my memory! Yikes. Things like that happen ALL the time...only sometimes I can't retrieve the memory at all.
