Thanks for all your replies. I think maybe my Dad just didn't want to discuss things further and explain why I haven't gotten my degree yet.

I don't think my Dad is ashamed of me.
Pdoc and I talked about it a bit today. She thinks I should talk to my Dad more. She thinks I am afraid of getting close to my Dad for fear of getting hurt.
I don't know about that. She really seems to think that my becoming attached to Dr. Bob has something to do with my Dad.
