Wow, -15C.
A long time ago I was in Prague and it was that temperature.
We flew from Kuala Lumpur and landed in this outpost of the empire (not expecting the cold!), a wonderland run by evil wizards, and everything had been preserved....you could smell the coal dust, the buildings had chutes for the coal, though we were too late to see the street lamps being lit by hand which may have continued up to the 60s.
It was extraordinary, and the only time I have ever experienced that kind of cold. We went to church at St Vitus in the Old Town, just to see how many people went and if the security services were out and about.
I found it hard to breathe.
Whether from the cold or the drink, or both, my face would not behave itself and I couldn't speak properly.Certainly beats drinking in the heat.
