Thanks you guys! I had actually been getting pretty down about it and procrastinating about things I could be doing. But I kind of sucked it up and got going again. I have an appointment tomorrow with a placement agency in which I will have to take extensive tests. This was one of the things I had been procrastinating about, but I decided it was time to jump in there and get it over with. This is an agency that caters to freelance and contract work, which I've never done before. I don't really know how people go about making a full time living at it, but apparently many do.

Oddly enough, I got an email from another place I had applied to for a full time position a while back asking if I was interested in some part time freelance work. I have an interview with them on Monday. Its only 10-15 hours a week, but they pay almost twice what I've been asking an hour! I had to actually hold myself back from responding to that with "Holy crap"! So maybe if I get that, then one or two more similar jobs to go along with it, I could actually make a freaking living!

So we'll see how it all goes. Who knows, maybe freelance work will be what I've been looking for! And of course there's always the possibility that a place I do some work for will want to take me on full time.

Thanks again for asking about my work woes. I think I'm feeling a bit better about things now. I just have to try and keep up the positive attitude.

Oh, one other thing, I read this article that said the way to get a job is to place a follow up call to the company you applied to after sending them your resume. This involves doing some research to find out who the hiring manager is so that you can bypass HR (who will want you to just send your resume and wait to be contacted). After I read the article I was like, "Hey, that's a really good idea"! I think I will pick a few companies to start with, and see what I can find out. I don't expect it to be easy, but its worth a try!
