In school cadets they tried to teach me to march.
'You bring your left arm forward as you bring your right leg forward.'
I couldn't quite understand what they were saying, but it seemed all wrong.
'If you walked like that you would fall over.'
'No no, this is how everybody does it.'
One way or another, this was more serious than I'd thought.
