That's fantastic, Deneb! I bet you can do it, too.
I've run a full marathon. It was not easy to run 26.2 miles, but I felt great afterwards! And what stories to tell...I usually have people doubled over from laughing when I tell them about everything I went through and saw. It's too long of a story so I won't get into it. lol.
Now I'm thinking about doing a half marathon, but speed walking it. I'm afraid to run after reading that all the jiggling from running will loosen and age your skin! Makes sense to me. Walking is so much easier on your joints and more enjoyable for me anyway.
When I did the marathon, I trained for 5 months to build mental and physical stamina, but I think I'll train for just a couple of months with a half marathon walk. I gradually increased mileage with rests every 3 days or so. Hydration is very important, so make sure you drink Gatorade/h2o before, during and after. Far as the blisters, a seasoned marathon runner told me to apply vaseline to blister prone places such a in-between toes before running/walking and it really worked.
Good luck and have fun with it!
