We had the coolest summer for 50 years and then, until now, no winter, it was so warm...although this morning is cool. I thought our planetary abuse may have triggered some melt down of all that snow that presumably still falls in the Rockies. (Do any of you feel like this is the beginning of the end of the world? I used not to think so.) So, anyway, I'd blame all that water on someone or other, but it is too early in the morning to have any idea of who (whom?), consistent with my own behaviour and with some coherent version of reality. I wrote to Verne and he's not replied. Perhaps he's been evacuated? It's interesting you have all these rivers. Our rivers don't get to the sea because we have used them all up before they get there. As a consequence there are areas of the river bed where the soil has become as dangerous to touch as battery acid (acid sulphate soil), the reasons for which I have heard but can't recall. The best line I heard on atheists recently is "Contemporary atheism is a Christian heresy that differs from earlier heresies chiefly in its intellectual crudity" (watch out sid) I used to have dreams about taking off in a light plane I didn't know how to fly (but I made it!!) and now I had to land the bloody thing.
Thankyouse
