Yes, she had an affair with JFK, also with Bobby Kennedy. The affair with JFK was an it's no-secret type secret. The reason that there was controversy over the way she died was because she'd threatened to go public about the affairs
and her knowledge of presidential Mafia connections (She had a little dog named Mafi)and "Blow the Lid off the Whole Thing" her words, a week before she died.
I think it was suicide, but when it comes to any politicians, especially the Kennedy family, I certainly can't say "There's no way they'd ever do that" far from it.
