I think it's perfectly okay to sell it Poet.
She DID say to, if you wanted to.
I think it's okay even if she did name it, etc.
I think she had really good intentions, and ALSO realized that it might not mean to you what it would have meant to her.
I think that's pretty insightful of her.
I do NOT see anything wrong with selling it for whatever you can get for it!!!!!!!!
I guess the one thing I'd need to do to feel okay would be to figure out what I'd say if the friend asked me about the doll, or came to visit & mentioned it, upon not seeing the doll around.
If you want to 'explore' what you might say, please say so - I'd be glad to 'look at it' with you.
