I'm glad you're not going to hurt yourself. The topic of my therapy today was my use of shopping and food to distract myself, and they're fairly effective, but costly. My therapist suggested exercise and talking to people as an alternative, if that helps.
I was thinking of trying to direct my distracting obsessions into researching something thoroughly.
I have heard exercise and yoga help. I prefer going to chat and watching the conversation.
