I haven't talked to him, his phone at home got turned off. But he left me a message before he left the hospital. I hope he does better now. Maybe this will get him to stay on his meds. That seems to always be what starts a downward spiral for him - he stops taking them.
This whole situation is so weird because he was always the most promising of all us kids. He got straight A's, got a college degree, got married, stayed loyal to our religious upbringing, spent his spare time volunteering and helping the homeless, etc. But I guess it just goes to show that all the brains, faith, and willpower in the world doesn't make a difference when you have a mental illness.
