I haven't felt clear-skied for a while now. The scratchpad was the only thing I could think of that had nothing to do with my other names, and nothing to do with anything, really. Maybe my cat and her propensity to use my lap as a scratching pad when she's getting ready to curl up for a visit.
Mostly it was to make as big a change as I could from the last name. I guess there is some personal trauma there with relation to having been a deputy. No matter how long I trained for it, I wasn't ever really ready for it.
