I have learned a few things over the years.
1. The Hundred Years War lasted 116 years, from 1337 to 1453. (Don't ask me -- it was on my mind last night...)
2. The best cure for an upset tummy is Stewart's Ginger Beer.
3. When knitting back and forth on a color pattern, it's often easier to cut the yarn and go back to the beginning than it is to try to purl with two colors. Even though it takes forever to weave in the ends.
4. Kittens often change sex before they grow up -- OK, really it's just really hard to tell the sex of a kitten under about two months old.
5. Most horses are left dominant, but many Thoroughbreds are right dominant.
6. It's not accidental that my mother always says, "C'est le guerre," and not "c'est la vie."
6.a. Mother's sig line on her email -- "If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried" -- reflects her philosophy of life.
7. When Dorothy Parker said that 'if you spit on a pencil eraser, it'll erase ink,' she was discussing real ink, fountain pen ink. That little trick doesn't work on ball point pens.
8. Sometimes the best treatment for anxiety is to lie on the sofa with a quilt over your head. It works even better if you have a cat handy.
How's that? Do I get a special prize for having come up with so many? Or is that typical "Dang, that Racer sure is long winded..."
