> hi Jay,
> so often when a loved one is seriously ill, concerned family and friends ask "How's your dad doing?" and you might give them a rundown of his latest diagnosis and procedures.

Things like holiday decorations. a certain kind of look that your dad gives you, that means "I love you". A long-lost family member who is able to reconnect after so much time passed. A nurse who goes a little above and beyond to provide comfort for you and your family. A really good cup of coffee. Invest some of your heart's energies in seeing the little things that make every day of our lives precious and beautiful.

> _llThank you so kindly for the wonderful response. I usually have my "cry" just before sleep. I know how scared my poor Dad is, and how awful and unfair it is because he was raised in an abusive home with abusive step-parents, and lots of fear as well. It's like, all of the type of feeling coming back to him. He doesn't say much, mainly because he is a very hardened soldier, but don't get me too wrong, as his emotions bubble close to the surface. If I could be there, every second of the way, even when he is having his operation, to hold his hand and kiss his cheek, I would. "If I could wave my magic wand.."..really...I wish so bad I could. Okay...I gotta stop now because I am getting quite teary. Thank you, again for your thoughts...Jay....
