trust me, you DON'T want a tiger.

I love them - they are some of the most awesome creatures I've ever seen. But they are predators.

I've seen a lot of people interact with tigers and evidentally it is hard for humans to think of them that way. We take in so many cats from private owners that thought they can handle them.

You can't tame them, you can't develop relationships with them, and if people don't know what they are doing all they can do is cage them up and hope for the best.

Frankly, they stink too. We have enclosures that are 5+ acres and you can still smell the cat.

Actually tigers don't purr. The cats that roar (lions, tigers, jaguars and leopards) can't purr. But other than that, they are strikingly similar in behaviour to house cats, just on an 800 lb scale.

I will leave you with a quote. I don't know who said it and I'm not trying to push religion on you, but it really stuck with me as an apt description of human nature.

God loved birds so he created trees.
Man loved birds so he created cages.
