Making the best of things

Posted by TexasChic on August 3, 2006, at 20:28:43

Today as I was stuck in the over an hour commute home, I saw someone lay on the horn because the person in front of them was trying to change lanes, and then getting around them and speeding up for a split second before coming to a stop again. I was like, what an idiot! It made me start thinking about being stuck in a situation and making the best of it. When someone held back to let me in to the lane that is next to impossible to get into I would think, "Now that person did that for no other reason than to be nice. They didn't have to do it, but knew they appreciated it when someone let them in". When the chic speeded up and almost rammed me for moving over when there was plenty of space I thought, "Hey, I was an aggressive driver just then. That's a big leap from when I was 21 years old and still didn't know how to drive." Every time my lane went faster than the next I went, "Woohoo! So long suckers!" When the other lane suddenly picked up I thought, "it really doesn't matter" and just turned up the radio and sang at the top of my lungs. "Inside peanut butter outside jelly." (Hip hop music)

I've ridden with people who get all tense over traffic. I really don't understand it. There's nothing you can do. You might as well relax and not worry about it.
