Hmmm... The Or, I guess, from default.
I don't know. Even within town there are a lot of variations in accents. I know people who really do say dawlin'. I just asked my husband how to spell that, and I had to wait for him to stop laughing at my unconvincing New Orleans accent.
But if you want to hear some genuine "yat" accent (I think that comes from the contraction of "you at", but if I'm incorrect and it's not a polite way to refer to someone, I apologize) I suggest Benny "Grunch" Antin's "The 12 Yats of Christmas" with such classics as "Ain't Dere No More" and "Over By Your Mama'n Nem". Just don't ask me to sing along because I apparently have a laughable New Orleans accent. (All I learned of speech came from the Brady Bunch and other reality based TV shows that I used as role models growing up.)
