on the upside seems my wireless connection isn't working out because... i don't have wireless!!! heh heh. i'm going to get a card tomorrow and hopefully i'll be in business :-)
(I should have access from my pc in my room but am having to make do with public comps which isn't so good)thanks peoples who gave me comp advice.

had an icon and a button and an infrared laser and all... just no built in wireless... go figure...
