No problem, I think the really good thing about forums like this is realizing others have experienced similar things. While this didn't happen to me, I was and am very involved so I feel almost like it happened to me as it was very impacting to someone I cared very much about.

The big event was indeed a grand mal seizure. Initially, when the small events were noticed it was chalked up to an anxiety issue - not officially diagnosed as such, but the family history could make that a really good assumption. Once the "big" seizure happened, we discovered these events were seizure activity. Major tests of EVERY variety were done and any structural, metabolic, infection etc.... cause was ruled out. EEG's and sleep deprived EEG's were all within normal limits. So, a cause was never actually determined.

Trileptol was begun for seizure control. Yes, there is much crossover with headmeds. Historywise, they had not been officially diagnosed with a mental illness but the family history is landmined genetically for depression and anxiety. The Tri has been well tolerated and two years since the big event, no further incidents.... Praises be.

Discussing this with your doc wouldn't be a bad idea. If it is seizure activity, there's not a rule it will progress but there is a chance.

Take good care of yourself.
