Texas Chick

It's already Valentine's Day down under so consider this your virtual Valentine.

Okay, so your day starts when I pick you pre-dawn and we drive out to Sydney's outskirts for a dawn hot-air balloon flight.

We help them inflate the balloon and then rise in the darkness, up through the morning mist and into a wide silent sky.

As we look to the east, the sun stretches lazily and wakes from it's slumber and the first threads of pink and orange and gold begin to creep across the sky. Looking down we can see the morning mist beginning to break up revealing the rural setting below. Slowly but surely morning pushes night from the sky, which turns a thousand shades of blue before settling down to a deep azure. We pass over open fields where horse shy from the shadow of our balloon. Dogs dance in circles and bark silent hellos. And we drift wherever the wind takes us, free from cares or worries, totally at peace and at one with the sky. Finally we land, with a bump and a scrape and after packing helping pack the balloon we retire to a breakfast of BBQ chicken, champagne and fresh fruit.

There's watermelon, kiwi fruit, honeydew melon, strawberries, rock melon, grapes, apple, pineapple and a whole lot more besides.

When we return to the car, there's a dozen boxed roses waiting for you. Yellow of course as befits a girl from the Lone Star state. Rose potpourri and rose oil and a selection of luscious chocolates.

So we set of back to town, and I look at you and your smile would light up several small galaxies. I drop you off at the Observatory Hotel where you will spend the next few hours being pampered beyond belief in their day spa before dressing for pre dinner drinks at the Horizon Bar, where we just sit by the window and look at the city and harbour spread out below.

Then it's off to dinner. Down at Circular Quay we meet our 40ft motor launch and cruise around to Cockle Bay where we moor and place our orders at Nick's. When the meals are delivered we set off to cruise the harbour for the evening. You, me and the captain. We cruise and dine as the sun sets and the lights of the harbour city begin to shine. Alas eventually the evening has to end and we return gently back to shore. I stroll with you around the Rocks to the Park Hyatt Hotel looking out upon the opera house, and I see you to your door. Gently I take your hands in mine and raise them to my lips kissing each tenderly. I thank you for the most beautiful day and the warmth and joy of your company, and bid you then a good night.

You retire to sleep - happy I hope, to wake warm and snug in the safety of your own bed.

You seem really nice so this is just a little gift from me to you. I really hope that love finds you in unexpected and wonderful ways today and always. As I hope it does everyone, whether you have someone special or not.
