Brokeback mountain is a heartbreaking movie, but I won't say don't go see it.
It is about two roughneck men in Wyoming that realize and try to live with the fact that they love each other. One of them, Ennis, absolutely refuses to get in touch with himself or realize he might be gay.
For me, it is a story about knowing your true self and having the guts to live a genuine life.
As a survivor of abuse, it was particularly relevant to me, because I tend to totally split off from myself.I realized that I don't want to live that way anymore and I owe to myself to at least try to connect with my life and find people and stuff that I can love.
It's a universal story in that way. I wouldn't be afraid of it.
