I'll guess that Al would say that light goes the same speed at all times (isn't it a constant equal to the square root of the quotient E/m)? And it would appear from somewhere else to be doppler shifted depending on whether it was coming at you or away. But I await the the correct answer from an ancient warrior of the Empire.
