hi Orchid,
here is a list of fun things I've always wanted to do!

Buy 10 novels by new authors or award-winners and read them all

Go visit places you've always wanted to see, and take your camera (the zoo? Nearby botanical garden? etc.)

Write a short story and send it in to publishers just for fun

Write a poem

Sign up to volunteer at a woman's shelter or soup kitchen for at least one day

Visit all the local art museums. Bring a small notebook and make a list of your favorite paintings and sculptures. Back at home, look up your favorites, then go back and view the works again with your new knowledge.

Rent & watch 5 movies we're all "supposed" to see...the classics. Watch them while eating lots of popcorn & snacks. :)

Sign up for classes at the local community center - something like stained glass work, watercolor painting, etc.

If there is a subway near you, pick one line and spend a week getting off at EVERY STOP on the line. Take your journal and write down your experiences - who do you see, meet? (Could also do this on the bus.)

Visit 5 different Starbucks in the area, order the same thing, and compare the quality. Send your synopsis to friends.

I hope you're enjoying the time off!
